I'm Christin Marie — and I have a feeling we're going to get along just fine.
I'm an Arkansas girl through and through. I've been teaching for years and I still love it — the kids, the chaos, the moment something clicks for a student who has been struggling. There is nothing like it. My classroom is my second home, and yes, I absolutely spend my own money on supplies to make it better. I regret nothing.
At home I'm mom to three teenagers: E, my oldest, who just graduated high school and is heading off to college (I am so proud and so not ready); P, my 15-year-old son who keeps us all laughing; and A, my 14-year-old daughter who is wise beyond her years. Life with three teenagers is loud and wonderful and exhausting in the best possible way.
Then there's Carmy. He's our dog and he is, without question, the most dramatic and most beloved member of this household. He has opinions about everything, especially where he sleeps, and somehow always ends up in the best spot on the couch. I wouldn't change a thing.
When I'm not at school or wrangling my people, I am a committed homebody. I love being home. I love making our home cozy and organized and a place where everyone wants to be. I could spend an entire Saturday reorganizing a closet and be completely happy about it. Ask my family — they will confirm.
Disney is our family's love language. We have been more times than I can count and every trip feels like the first one. I am the trip planner, the packer, the one who has a spreadsheet for the itinerary. I have strong opinions about what to bring and what to leave at home, and I share all of it here.
I am also a reader. Always have been. There is nothing better than a good book and a blanket and a quiet house — a rare occurrence with three teenagers and a dramatic dog, but I take it when I can get it.
And the money saving thing? That is just who I am. Teachers do not exactly get rich, and raising three teenagers is not cheap. I have become very good at finding value without sacrificing quality, and I am here to share everything I have learned.
This blog is where all of those pieces of my life come together. It is real, it is Arkansas, it is a little chaotic, and it is very much us.
I am glad you are here.
